Below you’ll find everything you need to know to prepare for your interview, including our heart behind the show, what to expect, and the questions we’ll ask.

Welcome to the show!
What to Expect
- Format: Casual and conversational (see potential questions below)
- Recording Type: Live Camera for Video and Audio Versions
- Recording Time: 30–45 minutes (Actual podcast 20 min)
- Audience: Christian entrepreneurs, business owners, and marketplace leaders
NOTE: While we love deep faith journeys, we keep our conversations focused on unity in Christ and practical wisdom. And, since our audience is diverse, some of them may be new in their faith, we keep in mind 1 Corinthians 8:9 which says, “But be careful that this freedom of yours does not somehow become a stumbling block to the weak.”
For this reason, we want to avoid divisive doctrinal topics such as gender, poverty gospel, prosperity gospel, deliverance ministry, speaking in tongues, or baptism methods. While we don’t shy from truth, we don’t want anything to be a stumbling block to a new believer or someone seeking salvation.
Prepare for Podcast. . .
Our goal is to make this as simple and stream lined as possible. We don’t do any editing because we want to hear your story the way God reveals it to us. That being said, let’s strive for excellence in all we do to honor God. These tips may help.
PREP: Lyle may give you a call to get to know you before the recording. He’ll be texting you. On the day of the recording, we will take a few minutes to chat, off record, and get our voices warmed up so we can honor God with our stories and gifts. (We’ll probably pray as well.)
MAKE UP: We will be live and on camera so make sure there is no spinach in your teeth or that random hair sticking out of the side of your head.
TECH: We will be working via Zoom or similar online platform for the recording. Make sure you have a good connection, your camera and mic are working. It may help to sign in to Zoom to make sure it is updated.
LIGHTING: We want a ‘natural’ environment, not a blurred out background. This is important for the authenticity of your story. Make sure you have a good lighting source in front of you and you are facing the camera when you talk.
NO DISTRACTIONS: Please silence your cell phone, put the cat/dog out of room and let your family know you are on do not disturb mode. You can even include your family by having them pray for you during the recording!
QUESTION PREP Below are sample questions we may ask. You don’t need to prepare scripted answers—we want your authentic story—but reviewing them can help you feel more confident going in.
PROMOTING Your Episode
The podcast will be shared on a Christian Business Group with well over five hundred member, as well as other social media outlets. We encourage previous and current speakers to share social images on their profiles as well to help spread the word.
The video will also be shared on Youtube and may have some slight promotions to get more attention. Make sure you like and subscribe to our channel.
NOTE:
- When the podcast goes live, you’ll receive a follow-up email with graphics and links to share your episode to your ‘fan base’.
- Bonus: You’ll receive a social media images you can post specifically for your episode!!
