Episode Summary

Many entrepreneurs think business growth starts with working harder, but Isaiah Grant believes it starts with strategy, systems, and stewardship.

In this episode, Isaiah shares how God used early financial struggle, childhood entrepreneurship, nonprofit leadership, corporate burnout, and ministry to shape the work he now does through Kingdom Impact.

Isaiah also unpacks a powerful idea from Genesis 1: God created with order, purpose, provision, and rest. That same principle can help business owners build systems that turn prospects into clients, clients into success stories, and success stories into referrals.

The conversation also explores why a book can be one of the most powerful growth assets in a business. Isaiah explains that a book is not merely a how-to manual. It is a transformation guide that helps people see what is possible, understand the process, and take the next step.

Unlocking Your Business Potential: Insights from Isaiah Grant

In the entrepreneurial world, understanding the journey of fellow business owners can provide invaluable insights. When I sat down with Isaiah Grant, a passionate entrepreneur and coach, he shared his remarkable journey from childhood entrepreneurship to building a successful coaching business. Here’s what every aspiring entrepreneur needs to know about growth, purpose, and systems in business.

The Early Days: A Journey Begins

Isaiah’s entrepreneurial spirit ignited at a young age. At just seven years old, he faced financial struggles after his father was deported, leaving his single mother to provide for the family. This challenging situation opened his eyes to the realities of financial hardship. Isaiah recalls, "I remember waking up one day and going to my piggy bank... and then my mom said, 'We don’t have any more money.'" This moment marked the beginning of his entrepreneurial journey as he started selling pencils, erasers, and candy at school.

Key Takeaway:
Isaiah’s story reminds us that entrepreneurship can start with small steps, even in the face of adversity. Identifying a need and taking action, no matter how humble, can lay the foundation for future success.

Finding Purpose in Business
As Isaiah grew, his entrepreneurial journey evolved. From selling products in school to forming a sales team by the age of ten, he learned valuable lessons about leadership and teamwork early on. However, as he transitioned into high school, he faced challenges that forced him to step back from entrepreneurship. It wasn't until he entered college that he felt a divine calling to pursue business in a nonprofit context.

Isaiah explains how he and his team impacted over 600 students, preparing them for college while also giving back by building a water well in Kenya to support a village. This experience highlighted the importance of purpose in business.

Key Takeaway:
True fulfillment in entrepreneurship often comes from aligning your business with a higher purpose. Finding ways to give back can create a sense of community and drive meaningful change.

The Power of Systems: Learning from Genesis
Isaiah’s insights into creating systems were particularly striking. He referenced Genesis 1, where God strategically created the world in seven days. Isaiah suggests that entrepreneurs can learn from this divine blueprint by implementing systematic approaches in their businesses.

"Imagine taking that strategy and mapping out the seven highlighted milestones that will take a prospect from lead to raving fan," he says. This method emphasizes the significance of structure in business, ensuring that every step from acquiring a customer to providing ongoing support is meticulously planned.

Key Takeaway:
Implementing systems can drastically improve efficiency and effectiveness in your business. By creating clear processes, you can focus on delivering value while also buying back your time.

Faith and Action: Moving Beyond Hope
Isaiah emphasizes the distinction between hope and faith in business. Hope can lead to inaction, whereas faith drives action. "You gotta step out in faith and take those specific steps of action," he explains. This perspective encourages entrepreneurs to not only have faith in their vision but also to take concrete steps to achieve their goals.

Key Takeaway:
Successful entrepreneurs must blend hope with actionable strategies. Taking deliberate steps toward your goals while maintaining faith in your mission can lead to significant breakthroughs.

Wrapping Up -The Path Forward
Isaiah Grant's journey is a testament to the power of purpose-driven entrepreneurship. From his early days of selling candy to building a coaching empire that empowers others, his insights revolve around the importance of systems, faith, and giving back.

As you navigate your entrepreneurial path, consider how you can integrate these principles into your journey. Whether you are just starting or looking to refine your approach, remember that every step, no matter how small, can lead to profound impact.

Rev. Lyle
Hello and welcome to the Christian Business Growth Podcast. I'm here with Isaiah Grant and I'm excited to hear his story. Isaiah, how did God get you into business, brother?

Isaiah Grant
Well, Lyle, first and foremost, I want to say thank you for having me here. God got me into business when I was only about seven years old. So my dad, unfortunately, got deported.

From Connecticut back to Trinidad and my mom, she was a single parent mom, and I know exactly what it means to struggle financially. I remember waking up one day and going to my piggy bank. I had a blue piggy bank, I had a pink long tail, and I would stuff coins, dollars, hundred dollars when I would get that for birthdays. And then I remember one day my mom came to me and she said, Sweetie, we don't have any more money. And I'm like, Okay, well that's good. Just go to the ATM and pull out money.

Rev. Lyle
Yeah.

Isaiah Grant
And this is me being oblivious as a kid, not knowing that you have to work for money. And so she comes to me and says that. Well, I'm like, well, what do we do? If she we can't just go to ATM. She's like, well, let's use some of the stuff you have in your piggy bank. And I remember this feeling of like fear came upon me. And I'm like, okay, what if we run out?

And so my first start to entrepreneurship was selling pencils, erasers, candy. And I remember it went from ten dollar days to thirty dollar days to fifty dollar days. And then I started having hundred dollar days by the age of being in fifth grade. And so I knew that couldn't be a business full time. But I started to like have friends that were interested in making money too. And so I started teaching them how to do it and made a sales team by the age of like 10 years old.

And I'm like, this is crazy. And I had no clue what that was. And then fast forward, we go through middle school, I get to high school, and entrepreneurship came and it went. And then, you know, the policies and schools, you can't sell candy because you'd be competing, you know, with their their infrastructure and what they have to offer. And then when I finally got to college, God called me to entrepreneurship in a nonprofit realm. And so

Rev. Lyle
Yeah.

Isaiah Grant
That looked like learning how to build a team of 10. And we had those individuals be leaders. And what we did was we discipled students that were in high school preparing for college. Over 600 students we were able to bless in four years of going to University of Connecticut. And by the end of the four years, we actually built a water well in Kenya, Africa. And that was to help a village with their economics. Cause long story short, when there's a village with a water supply.

They can take care of their schooling, they can do agriculture, they can actually resell them water and make money from it. And so I had these small glimpses of entrepreneurship. And then this is where once I got to corporate America, I served in corporate corporate America as aerospace engineering product owner. And I knew I could not spend the rest of my life in corporate America, right? Waking up in the morning, getting to a a boxcar to eat a box lunch into a box office.

Rev. Lyle
Right.

Isaiah Grant
It was driving me nuts. So I started a coaching business that originally formed as a web design company. It morphed into a more of like a Legion company and then eventually became a coaching company. Once I learned how to market, how to sell effectively, and then ultimately build systems. And throughout this journey, I've been able to take all of the expertise and package it into a product ties ecosystem and sell it as a book. Our book,

You know, it's been an incredible Faith Impact Freedom method turned into a bestseller on Amazon. And what we use is a book to actually be our number one growth asset. So people will see our our book, they'll buy it for seven dollars, they'll join our ecosystem, and if we're able to help them, we'll deliver massive value to them. Cause our intent with Kingdom Impact is to help develop the next generation of leaders.

Who love the gospel of Jesus Christ, who share it through a book, and then most importantly, the world-class systems that help them buy back their time. So it all started with a piggy bank moving into learning how to sell pencils and erasers and candies and building a sales team, to then go into corporate America and feeling burnt out and knowing that that wasn't my calling. Because God has created us for a unique purpose and a mission. And sometimes it's not in a a job.

Sometimes he wants us to branch out and start our own business. And that's where Kingdom Impact came from.

Rev. Lyle
That's cool. And when we when we're having a conversation before this, you talked a little bit about systems and you said it came from Genesis. Talk a little bit about that.

Isaiah Grant
my goodness. So that's one of my favorite things. This is a game changer. When I read Genesis 1, right, day day one, day zero, we can call it, he separates the heaven and the earth, creates the heaven and the earth. Right, fast forward, he creates vegetation, he creates water and land, separates water and land. Then eventually by day six, he creates human beings. And then day seven, he tells man to rest. And so what we see from the Lord, he's very strategic. He creates

This level of presence where he is present in the garden. He protects us by putting the tree of good and evil there, which most think, hey, he put a tree there and told us not to eat there. How's that protection? It's actually giving us free will to make a decision to follow him or to follow the flesh. And then he also provided everything we needed land, water, vegetation, and purpose to reign and subdue, multiply before he even created us. Provision.

And then last but not least, he gave us purpose, which was to go out and be fruitful and multiply. So as we see this big strategy, he systemizes it into seven days. Day one all the way to day seven. So imagine taking that strategy and doing that for your growth, for your company, mapping out the seven highlighted milestones that will take a prospect and turn them into a lead, into a buyer, to a raving fan, into a promoter of your company.

And then you would do it for your client success, getting somebody successfully onboarded, down to activating, ensuring that they get a quick win in their first day or two, all the way up to day 30. And then ongoing fulfillment of ensuring they get world-class results so that they leave a case study, give you referrals, and then with these referrals, increasing lifetime value. Because the average order value of a customer is one of the greatest ways for a company to grow.

So we look at Genesis one as a way of God, our Father, systemizing a strategy. And if you take that, write it on paper, seven simple milestones or steps to achieve an objective, and you do that for your growth, you do it for delivering value, and you do it for financial stewardship. You have three engines that you can buy back your time. This is the same stuff that has helped us help over 600 business owners.

Isaiah Grant
generated over a hundred million dollars in sales and even to the point where I have a real estate company that we manage and own over three million in sales and I only work thirty minutes per week in it. That is the crazy part about this while being a full time pastor and owning Kingdom Impact, which is the coaching company in the real estate. So those are the three things we do. And I can do four hours in our coaching, thirty minutes in the real estate and be full time in ministry because of the

Rev. Lyle
Mm-hmm.

Rev. Lyle
That's great.

Isaiah Grant
power of strategizing and turning it into a system from Genesis one.

Rev. Lyle
Yeah, as you were talking, I began to think hope is unknown and faith is known. You gotta step out in faith and take those specific steps of action. The systems, if you're sitting around and people have a hope marketing, they throw something out there and hope something happens rather than a faith marketing that says, I'm gonna take those steps specifically to make something happen because I want to align with God and what he's doing.

Isaiah Grant
Yes, come on.

Isaiah Grant
Hundred percent. Like this, for example, Lyle, let's do it for yours real quick. The start in the let's call it Alpha and Omega. Day one is Alpha. The Omega is day seven when he told us the rest. So you have an incredible podcast, right? You have a video vlog, we can call it podcast or a vlog. So at the start of it, right, is hey, how do I find new people? Right? People can come to my webpage, they can see an ad, fill out an application, and then all the way at the end is where

You send them the material that they can promote to their thousands of people on their list and to your own. And all you do, because that's the alpha and the omega, is list out the five simple steps that will guide them all the way to the end. So, like step two, once somebody applies, is you have your automated emails and text to get them to get prepared for the actual event. Number three, once they show up, they are prepared to answer the four big questions. Then number five.

is you give them a recap of what you need to promote, you know, maybe their company after the recording. Number five, maybe you give them some assets, right, to promote to their email list so that you can also promote to your email list. And then number six is maybe you add them as an affiliate to your website so that if anybody needs their service, you can send them to them and you get a percentage. Imagine doing that with a hundred very well known business owners that you could

Promote, and now all of your growth is coming from people that came to your your podcast, promote it to their audience, and now you never have to sell anything because they're selling for you and you're getting a percentage from a hundred people. That's a growth engine done in less than one minute. Built here on the scratch. Seven simple steps, just like Genesis one. Back to

Rev. Lyle
Exactly. Right.

Rev. Lyle
Yep. Yep.

Yeah, and it's funny because you talk about that, that's almost my exact system, and it takes me less than an hour to product produce that entire system. It's all automated, almost all of it. Yeah, that's the way it's supposed to be. Yeah, that's way that's great. Thank you. What is God doing in your business right now, brother? Give me two minutes.

Isaiah Grant
Amen.

Isaiah Grant
Literally, there you go. A hundred percent that you got it down to a science, man.

Isaiah Grant
my gosh, he yes, he is doing so much. Two simple things. First one is we are helping people become guaranteed bestsellers. We do four steps to help them become a bestseller. Number one, write their manuscript through coming up with their book idea for their business. Number two is designing the graphics and the formatting. Number three is publishing it. And number four is the launch, four-day launch sequence for them to become a bestseller. By writing a book, no matter what industry you're in.

whether you're a coach, consultant, expert, or just a brick and mortar business owner, it allows for you to actually create an asset to predictably get clients. Because if people are buying your book, they're getting 80, 90% sold on your process, who you are and how you can help them. So it makes the sell even easier. So that's what God is doing in our clients, in our company. And then number two is designing strategy and turning that strategy into systems where I can buy back all of my time.

And work less than four hours in all the businesses that I have. Thirty minutes to four hours per week through using that strategy, AI, automation, and delegating to world-class talent. So those are two simple things that he's doing in our company.

Rev. Lyle
That's perfect, exactly. And we're gonna kind of shift into our business growth and you're gonna kind of prep this a little bit. We talked about it's about books, you know. It sounds so weird to write a book, but in today's world it's so easy to write that book and get it out there. But again, it takes that strategy concept. So talk to us a little bit about what does it mean to write a book and how does that impact somebody in their business directly?

Isaiah Grant
Yes, yeah.

Isaiah Grant
Long story short, think about Jesus. He did three diff three different things. First one, took his expertise in his mission of restoring salvation, restoring eternity with God and man together. He then turned that into a book that over three thousand years has been the number one bestseller. Then he created a one-to-many model called The Church, where he the ultimate high priest ministering to a group of people in a setting.

And then number three, he had James, John, and Peter in a one-to-one format, very similar to a one-on-one coaching program. And so if Jesus can do that, why can't we do that? And so if you look at this process of using a book, a book is a great way for people to get educated. It's a great way for them to get nurtured. And when they come in and read that book, their next step or next question is: how do I implement this? Who can hold me accountable? How long is this going to take me?

And this is where an accountability partner, an expert, or a coach will come in and walk them through the process. And that is exactly what we do to help our clients through Kingdom Impact. And so it is an incredible process where you can then have a book. Any person, if you're an accountant, you can write a book teaching people how to maximize their profit in any company. If you're a real estate agent, you could talk about the best loans or the best way to find hidden gems and properties at a discounted.

If you're a coach or consultant, you can talk about your expertise and how do you help somebody solve a very particular problem, whether it's leadership or even it's ministry, you can teach people how to find Jesus through a book. It doesn't matter what craft. If you solve a problem, you can write a book to help people.

Rev. Lyle
What would you tell someone that says, I just don't know if I have a book in me?

Isaiah Grant
Yes, you do. If you have an idea to help somebody solve a problem, you can write a book. Here's the best part. You no longer have to write a book. Look at Jesus. He did not physically write the Bible. In fact, he was an expert that he delegated to his writers, like Matthew, Peter, the great apostle Paul, post his Jesus' death. They all wrote chapters. So it was Jesus and Holy Spirit inspired, and it came into one book. So that means guess what?

He had a ghostwriter. You could have a physical ghostwriter. Holy ghostwriter. Come on. That was it. Holy ghostwriter. So you could hire your own ghostwriter to write it, which can typically be very expensive. Or if you follow a proven framework where you can train AI to become a ghostwriter, it will know your stories, your passions, your desires, your personalities, things you've gone through, your proven frameworks. If you train it to become your ghostwriter, and then you follow a proven framework.

Rev. Lyle
A Holy Ghost writer.

Isaiah Grant
That shifts the identity and the belief system and shows people proof of how to solve something, then you can actually use AI to help you write a book. We have people who wrote a entire book, a best selling book, for example, like Sean. He topped John Maxwell, a leadership coach. If you're f familiar with John Maxwell, he topped him on leadership on Amazon, self-published, and he used AI to write his book. So it's not AI coming up with these new ideas.

It's actually using your frameworks and packaging your story, your frameworks into a message that's easy to digest. So we're not using AI to come up with ideas. We're using it to write for you. So you're still inspiring the thought, frameworks and ideas to it.

Rev. Lyle
Yeah, that's what we realize a lot of times. We talked about this on our podcast, is AI is a a tool, it's not a replacement. You still gotta tell your stories because your stories what impacts people. Look what Jesus did. Look at all the stories he told about people. He used parables, he talked about specific things. That's where transformation comes into place.

Isaiah Grant
Exactly. Yep.

Isaiah Grant
Come on. Yes. That's it. Your book, and one more thing I'm gonna add about a book, a book is not a how to. It is a guide for transformation. So instead of talking about how to do something in your book, talk about the new identity, the new belief system, the high level process, and show them proof that it can be done from an average person. That is when your book turns from a how to guide into a transformation guide.

Rev. Lyle
That's great, I love that. A transformation guy. That's what the Bible is, right?

Isaiah Grant
Yeah, exactly. Right? Come on.

Rev. Lyle
So if somebody's wanting to write a book, they said I I okay, I'm gonna hear you and I I have a story and I'm gonna try to use AI, I'm gonna try to tell my stories, but I might need help. That's where you come alongside and you kinda coach people because you ain't gotta do it alone.

Isaiah Grant
Yes.

Isaiah Grant
100%. You don't have to do it alone. I'll tell you this. When I wrote my book myself, it took me over two and a half years. With all of our clients, it takes them less than 45 days. In fact, we have something called the bestseller academy where we teach you those four simple steps: coming up with your book idea, turning it into a manuscript, creating the designs and graphics and formatting for the book for print, EPUB, Kindle. And then number three is actually publishing it. And then number four is the guaranteed bestseller.

We teach you how to do that in less than 45 days. If you would like to learn more, you can reach out going to kingdomimpact.co backslash automated dash CEO. KingdomImpact.co backslash automated dash CEO. Put your first name, email, and sell. My team and I will reach out to you personally and help you create a customized plan for writing your book and launching it within 45 days as a guaranteed bestseller. You don't have to take two years to do it.

You don't have to think about what is this marketing plan? You don't need a large following. You don't even need a budget for marketing. That's the cool part. No followers, no budget. We have a community of 600 plus people of bestsellers that you'll be able to sell your book to and become a guaranteed bestseller just from our community. And then we teach you how to promote organically and through paid later on. And that's how you can get in contact with us.

Rev. Lyle
That's Okay. And go to cbgpodcast.com if you're listening in on this. I'll have that link available that you can click directly to it. Cause you may not you may be driving and not be able write that down right now. So what's a little bit of tidbit of wisdom you want to leave us with?

Isaiah Grant
And also.

Man, so if you have a strategy, use Genesis one, turn it into a seven step strategy, and then every milestone in that strategy turn it into a playbook. If you do that, you can then use automation, you can use AI, and you can delegate to a world class talent so that you can get eighty to a hundred percent removed from your business.

Rev. Lyle
Perfect. Thank you for being with us today.

Isaiah Grant
Thank you. God bless you, Lyle.

Rev. Lyle
Bless you, brother.
