Why Start a Kingdom-Centric Business?
Starting a business with a focus on kingdom values can transform not only your life but also the lives of those around you. Brandon's story illustrates that it's possible to integrate faith into your work, creating a venture that aligns with your beliefs and serves your community.
The Journey Begins: Finding Your Why
- The Call to Entrepreneurship: After feeling the pull to impact young lives more significantly, Brandon sought a way to reclaim his time. His passion for billboards and digital marketing grew out of a desire to promote businesses that align with biblical values.
- Answering the Call: Losing his father to COVID was a pivotal moment that propelled him to pursue his business dreams. With a small inheritance, he was able to invest in a franchise without accumulating substantial debt.
Building a Business with Purpose
- Creating a Platform for the Gospel: Brandon’s indoor billboards feature rotating daily Bible verses, reinforcing the message of faith daily. He partners with local businesses that share similar values, ensuring that his work promotes a kingdom agenda.
- Community Impact: By collaborating with non-profits and other faith-based businesses, Brandon is making a tangible difference in his community. His advertising efforts support churches, food pantries, and businesses that promote positive messages.
Balancing Business and Ministry
Brandon’s transition from athletic training to full-time entrepreneurship required careful navigation between his business and ministry roles. Here’s how he successfully balances the two:
- Listening to God’s Direction: Brandon emphasizes the importance of prayer and seeking wise counsel to make decisions aligned with his faith. He shares that sometimes, God’s guidance comes in unexpected ways, leading to significant changes in direction.
- Aligning Values with Business Practices: As Brandon gained experience, he learned to evaluate business partnerships carefully, ensuring they align with his mission. This has meant stepping back from opportunities that don’t fit his values, even when they may have been lucrative.
Key Takeaways
1. Identify Your Purpose: Reflect on what drives you and how you can integrate your faith into your business model.
2. Seek Guidance: Pray for direction and consult with mentors who share your values.

Hello and welcome to the Christian Business Growth Podcast. I’m Reverend Lyle. I’m here with Brandon Stafford from Little B’s Indoor Billboards and Digital Marketing. He has a powerful story to share. Brandon, how did you get started in business?
Brandon:
I got started around 2022 or 2023. I was working as an athletic trainer at a local high school, and my wife and I were youth pastors at a small church.
Trying to do both was difficult. We wanted to impact kids’ lives, but we didn’t have enough time. God started stirring something in me. I felt called to take my time back so I could invest more into ministry.
I saw friends starting businesses, and I felt like God was leading me that direction too. Working 80 hours a week wasn’t good for my family or ministry.
I had always been interested in billboards. I liked the idea that once you set them up, they can run pretty efficiently. I thought I could do both for a while.
Around that time, my dad passed away from COVID and left me a small inheritance. It wasn’t a lot, but it was enough to get started without going into heavy debt.
So I started the business part-time while still working. I had some early success, but once football season came back around, it got hard to stay consistent with business owners and advertisers.
Still, God provided. He kept things moving.
Now we’re about two and a half years in. Recently, we’ve stepped into a new season. It’s exciting, but also hard.
We transitioned out of youth ministry and became outreach directors at our church. I also left my job about six months ago. It didn’t happen the way I wanted, but through prayer and fasting, we believe it was God’s direction.
Looking back now, there’s no way I could have balanced everything. God knew what He was doing.
What’s really cool is seeing how everything is starting to intertwine.
I used to think I was a business owner doing ministry on the side.
Now it feels like I’m doing ministry, and the business is the side.
The original vision came out of seeing how much influence big businesses had after COVID. I felt a burden to help kingdom businesses grow so they could have influence too.
That’s why I started the indoor billboards.
Now our billboards rotate daily Bible verses. We’re sharing the gospel every day. We partner with churches, KCBI radio, and nonprofits like Central Storehouse.
It’s become a kingdom-focused vessel.
We intentionally partner with like-minded businesses. For example, one of our hosts is Parlor Donuts, and another was Babylon Coffee Roasters, owned by a believer who came to Christ after immigrating from Iraq.
You walk in and people are studying the Bible. That’s the kind of environment we want to be part of.
I didn’t grow up in church. My parents struggled with alcoholism. I didn’t understand the gospel until high school, and I drifted away for years.
Now I get to share that story with others. I’m just a vessel.
Lyle:
How important is God’s Word in business?
Brandon:
God’s Word always accomplishes what He intends.
I was on a mission trip and talking with a coffee shop owner. I told him I avoided bars because it didn’t align with my values.
He asked me, “What if someone in a bar sees a Bible verse on your billboard, puts down their drink, and comes back to Christ?”
That changed my perspective.
We’re called to go into the world, not avoid it.
That’s why the rotating Bible verse became a priority.
Lyle:
There’s a balance between reaching the world and staying aligned with your calling.
Brandon:
Exactly. And sometimes God corrects alignment.
There were places I put billboards early on that didn’t align. Later, I started having issues in those locations. Looking back, I believe God was closing those doors.
It felt like I was going backward, but I was actually moving forward into better alignment.
Lyle:
How do you make those decisions?
Brandon:
Prayer, wisdom, and counsel. Listening to the Holy Spirit.
You won’t hear from God if you’re not in His Word.
Lyle:
Let’s talk business growth.
Brandon:
A lot of businesses are missing simple fundamentals.
Google Business Profile
A good website
Being active online
AI tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude are starting to recommend businesses. They rely on your online presence.
If your profile and website aren’t active and clear, you won’t get recommended.
Consistency matters more than perfection.

These things are free. They just take time.
Consistency is the word God put on my heart this year.
It’s like farming in Texas. It feels like August heat, no rain, and nothing growing.
But if you keep going, the harvest comes.
Sometimes it feels like August, but it’s only March.
Stay consistent.
Lyle:
That’s powerful. Consistency beats resistance.
Brandon:
Exactly. Systems help with that.
I spent four hours building a system with ChatGPT. It felt like wasted time.
But if that system leads to one sale, it was worth it.
Lyle:
How can people connect with you?
Brandon:

Final wisdom:
Be consistent.
Isaiah 43 reminds us God is doing a new thing. Romans 5 shows trials produce perseverance, character, and hope.
God is working, even in the hard seasons.
Don’t let the enemy steal that from you.
Stay faithful. Stay consistent.
